Tamryn Jacobs is DJ Shugga. In a market that is packed to the walls with DJ’s and electronic artists, Shugga has fast become one of the most prominent names on the Durban scene. With her trademark enthusiasm, energy and wildly interactive relationship with any dance floor, the funky young female has achieved a massive amount in a short space of time.

 

 

 

She began playing in December of 2012 and it wasn’t long until she claimed the ‘Tiger Tiger Red Bull Spin-off’ title a couple months later in 2013, and made her debut appearance at KZN’s biggest outdoor EDM festival; ‘Fun In The Sun’. With a love for most genres, Shugga has worked almost every venue in Durban with a highly versatile arsenal of music.

 

 

 

Not only has the charismatic DJ frequented places like; Origin, La-Vida, Tiger, RoccaBar and Tokio. But she is one of the few Durban performers to play outside the 031, with shows in Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, Margate and Pretoria. Coupled with this, she has also made regular appearances on ‘Sensations’ and ‘FYTM’ Radio. Having recently returned from a successful two week tour in Gauteng, Tamryn is all set for a massive holiday period, which includes her second appearance at ‘Fun In The Sun’ and performances all over KZN. As the lady herself would say:
